As an Applications Specialist at BD Biosciences, you will provide expert training and flow cytometry support to users of BD Biosciences reagents and instrumentation across the UK and Ireland. This field-based role requires regular travel, including overnight stays, to clinical diagnostic laboratories and healthcare facilities. Main responsibilities will include:
- Deliver on-site, in-house, and virtual flow cytometry training and application support to laboratory technicians, biomedical scientists, and clinicians.
- Work within fast-paced clinical settings, assisting diagnostic laboratories in achieving timely and accurate results.
- Support the integration of Laboratory Information Management Systems for BD Biosciences solutions.
- Conduct pre-sales demonstrations of instrumentation, reagents, and solutions.
- Deliver customer-focused seminars, presentations, and workshops.
- Provide internal product training to team members.
- Collaborate with local and regional teams to achieve business objectives.
About you:
- A degree in life sciences, ideally with a focus on immunology, haematology, or cell biology; a postgraduate qualification is advantageous.
- Extensive laboratory experience with flow cytometry applications.
- Strong knowledge of clinical diagnostic laboratory processes and protocols, with the ability to support NHS, HSE, and private pathology labs.
- Comfortable working within regulated clinical environments.
- Excellent troubleshooting skills and a methodical problem-solving approach.
- Skilled in delivering training and presentations, with strong interpersonal and communication abilities.
