Product Manager for Academic Research Products

In the role of a BDB EMEA Product manager for research, the successful applicant will be responsible for the launch, life cycle management and general promotion of research products to maintain and enhance market position. The role will work closely with the country sales and marketing teams as well as EMEA teams including supply chain, regulatory and commercial excellence.

Main responsibilities will include:

  • Develop and execute marketing strategies to meet market demands and achieve revenue targets

  • Collaborate with global marketing platform teams so EMEA requirements are understood and to ensure product quality and timely launch of new products

  • Design and deliver EMEA launch programs of new products and thereby increase revenues

  • Manage the existing portfolio including life cycle management of products

  • Provide and arrange training and support to internal teams on product features and applications

  • Develop and maintain expert market knowledge in terms of quantitative data (e.g. market data, market trends, competitor pricing) and qualitative data (e.g. customer needs, competitor activities, plans, technologies and applications); recommending suitable actions to improve opportunities and minimize potential threats to the business.

  • Conduct market research to map and monitor the EMEA Academic research market, identifying trends, opportunities, and competitive landscape to inform targeting and marketing strategies.

  • Collaborate with the rest of European Marketing Team to share information and update with market data, product developments and market specific strategic and tactical plans

  • Provides oversight on omnichannel campaign standards and governance including creative consistency and execution. Collaborate closely with sales and marketing teams to align campaigns with business objectives and integrate digital and traditional marketing efforts.

About you:

  • A Bachelors degree in a life sciences subject, or similar equivalent

  • Previous practical experience in a laboratory and ideally practical knowledge of flow cytometry

  • Experience in product management and marketing or sales in a life science environment.

  • Excellent analytical and communication skills and fluency in spoken English and a further major European language would be an advantage

  • Strong organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines simultaneously

  • Proven track record in leading change and achieving results with a high degree of autonomy: ability to take ownership of tasks and get things done

  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills with proven record of strong presentation skills

  • Proficiency in MS Office suite

  • Familiarity with the EMEA life sciences market

  • Willingness to travel, anticipated to be up to 20% of time
