As a leading manufacturer and supplier of products that are used daily in healthcare, the Medication Delivery Solutions (MDS) team provide a wide range of products for injection and infusion therapy, regional anaesthesia and closed medication management.

About the role

The Senior Marketing Director EMEA will drive the marketing vision and strategy for Medication Delivery Solutions (MDS) in EMEA. Reporting to the Vice President/General Manager for MDS EMEA,the position is critical to the success of the BD MDS business within the BD Medical Segment.

You will have the objective to develop and implement the marketing strategy and capabilities for BD Mediation Delivery Solutions in the EMEA region to unlock the potential, growth, and profitability of the MDS portfolio, services, and solutions. The role is instrumental in completing and embedding changes to the marketing operating model in the BU organization, ensuring effectiveness of collaboration and impact on business results.

You will directly lead a team of 9 associates and a total team of about 40 regional marketing associates.

Main responsibilities will include:

  • Builds and executes bold and inspiring business unit’s vision and strategy for the relevant portfolio and solutions offering.

  • Builds strong organization, processes, and develops critical capabilities to drive integrated solutions and achieve the marketing vision.

  • Provides leadership on all marketing-related aspects for the region. Hereby ensures strong and effective operational links with the Country/Hub Business Leaders, the Country and Cluster Marketing teams and the Worldwide Platform leaders of the Business Unit.

  • Serves as a leader and coach. Drives marketing excellence by upskilling across marketing proficiencies. Requests robust organization and resources. Enables marketing synergies to make marketing organization to cope with current and future opportunities.

  • Creates, develops and maintains a strong link with Medical Affairs and other functional teams and translates value into marketing actions.

  • Contributes to the Worldwide MDS Strategy and wider BD Strategy via constant communication with the Worldwide MDS Business and Worldwide Marketing Teams.

About you

The successful candidate will have significant depth and breadth of marketing knowledge and experience, within the Medical Devices industry. You will have an established track record to optimally operate in an international environment and experience in leading large teams of professionals.


  • Leading marketing organizations of different formats and in diverse environments. ideally working experience in a matrix organization.

  • Applying a deep understanding of customer needs, market dynamics and clinical standards to deliver innovation and improve health outcomes, better serve customer needs, and drive company results.

  • The candidate for the role will have the ability to build and communicate a vision and strategy, set direction, get results and lead through change.

  • Strategic and analytical capabilities, and sound business acumen are a must, Business management experience is a plus.

  • Successful execution of the role implies a broad set of established competencies. The ability for continued personal and professional growth is viewed as key for sustained contribution in this role.

  • The cultural fit will be critical, with emphasis on the drive to succeed and also strong interpersonal skills.

  • The right individual will bring strong leadership skills and readiness for further international career development within the company, within marketing function or regional management being a probable next step.
