Automation Maintenance (Electro-Mechanic) - Nights

Job Description Summary

The Automation Technician EM (Electro-Mechanic) supports all manufacturing processes by maintaining, troubleshooting, repairing and installing automated equipment including, but not limited to, robots, mechanical systems, PLCs, servo drives, vision systems, conveyors, hoppers, pumps, etc. This position requires excellent mechanical, electrical and control skills as well as good communication, organization and problem-solving abilities. The successful candidate will work closely with other mechanics and engineers to resolve related production issues. (Nights on D-Shift)

Summary: 
This position performs preventative maintenance on automated equipment, maintains equipment logs, records data, submits written reports to supervisors, monitors machine performance, assists in training of other technicians as needed, troubleshoots and solves problems.  

Responsibilities:

  • Performs scheduled maintenance on automated equipment.

  • Assists with preventative maintenance activities.

  • Ensures adherence to quality standards during maintenance procedures.

  • Maintains appropriate documentation for all repairs performed.

  • Submits detailed work orders and equipment status changes through computerized maintenance management system.

  • Accurately diagnoses malfunctions and makes necessary repairs.

  • Utilizes various hand tools and powered equipment while performing maintenance duties.

  • Participates in process improvement/Kaizen teams.

  • Adheres to safety requirements when operating machinery or working at heights.

  • Adheres to applicable FDA regulations, GMPs, ISO requirements, and other regulatory requirements.

  • Other duties as assigned.


Qualifications:

  • Associate’s degree preferred or equivalent combination of education and experience.

  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.

  • Demonstrates leadership skills.

  • Ability to read schematics and blueprints.

  • Working knowledge of programmable logic controllers (PLCs) and automated systems.

  • Basic understanding of vision systems and laser technology.

  • Proficient use of Microsoft Office Suite products.

  • Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.

  • Ability to effectively communicate ideas through verbal and written form.

  • Willingness to work any shift.
