The WW Director, B2B will drive the overall oversight of the global B2B business for the MDVC platform with an intention to expand our capabilities and our product offerings across the MDS Business Unit. This position will take ownership of a high growth, high GP business and continue to drive increased value for the business while improving support levels for our B2B customers.

The Medication Delivery Solutions (MDS) business unit and the Medication Delivery and Vascular Care (MDVC) platform plays a key role in providing medical devices critical to healthcare. The team comprise of individuals passionate about our role and our legacy as a company and excited about our growth in the B2B segment.

POSITION SPECIFIC OVERVIEW

This role has the principal responsibility to develop the global Business-to-Business (B2B) and Pharma vertical within the MDVC platform and subsequently build out a strategy to include other product platforms at an MDS level.

The leader will have substantial influence on the development and execution of business strategy on a global basis. Over the Annual Strategic Review (ASR) timeframe, plans are to drive aggressive growth targets outpacing our core acute business. Providing leadership to this team and guidance to the regional teams to maximize our opportunities to drive strong profitable growth is a key deliverable. This is a key initiative for the platform with the opportunity to build out an organization that better serves the customer at a Business Unit level.

This role will provide key support for the Platform leader and may be called upon at times to lead / facilitate platform level initiatives and activities. This involves providing leadership and oversight to functional peers to meet business objectives. It also involves establishing strong ties with other complementary platforms to align and allow for synergistic promotional / selling activity.

The successful candidate will need to work in a fast-paced, entrepreneurial environment with little supervision. Resourcefulness and the ability to successfully manage multiple priorities are keys, as is the ability to work effectively across functions.

This role is an excellent opportunity to demonstrate functional leadership as well as provide for platform leadership developmental opportunities.

JOB DESCRIPTION SUMMARY

The WW Director, B2B will drive the overall oversight of the global B2B business for the MDVC platform with an intention to expand our capabilities and our product offerings across the MDS Business Unit. This position will take ownership of a high growth, high GP business and continue to drive increased value for the business while improving support levels for our B2B customers.

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Execute MDVC platform strategy for continued B2B growth

  • Develop & execute a B2B Global Strategy for the MDS business to drive profitable, sustainable financial growth

  • Identifies innovation opportunities for the businesses to drive future growth based on market dynamics and unmet customer/clinical needs.

  • Responsible for driving key B2B innovation and sustaining projects through development and commercial processes by leading cross functional teams.  Works with teams to ensure timely execution and meeting of key deliverables. Includes working with country/region marketers.  Work includes providing insights and oversight to voice of customer, developing pricing strategies and business cases and leading commercial launch excellence.

  • Accountable for working with regional marketing counterparts & B2B Sales to develop and execute regional strategies to ensure achievement of financial/ budget expectations

  • Partner with B2B Sales and Customer Service team to achieve revenue and profitability goals

  • Partner with Platform Marketing to manage product line pricing strategy & operational execution to meet business objectives

  • Accountable for demand management by developing recommendations on product sales forecasts and production inventory issues

  • Meets all marketing work-stream deliverables as required in BD’s Global Product Development Process and annual marketing processes to ensure the achievement of financial/budget expectations and product line strategies

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Bachelor’s degree required, MBA or advanced degree preferred

  • 8+ years of business or functional leadership experience

  • Combined pharmaceutical and medical device experience preferred

  • Strong understanding of cross-functional teams and their role within developing and sustaining products

  • Strong business acumen

  • Strong analytical thinking, questioning & problem-solving skills

  • Sound judgement and decisiveness

  • Demonstrated project management skills or certifications

  • Excellent communication and presentation skills

  • Change management experience

  • Must be able to work effectively across business groups, functions, and regions – with experience managing cross-matrix relationships and external stakeholders

  • Travel required – 20+%
