We are the people who give possibilities purpose

BD is one of the largest global medical technology companies in the world. Advancing the world of health™ is our Purpose, and it’s no small feat. It takes the imagination and passion of all of us—from design and engineering to the manufacturing and marketing of our billions of MedTech products per year—to look at the impossible and find transformative solutions that turn dreams into possibilities.

Job Description

Join a team dedicated to improving patient safety and product quality in the medical device industry. In this strictly entry-level role, you will use your nursing knowledge and clinical judgment to evaluate customer-reported concerns, support patient safety initiatives, and serve as a clinical resource for vascular access and infusion-related products.

This is a computer-based position with no direct patient care responsibilities and no patient contact. Instead of providing bedside care, you will review clinical information, assess reported events, and contribute to patient safety and quality efforts that impact healthcare providers and patients worldwide.

Designed specifically for nurses with 1-3 years of RN experience, this role offers the opportunity to build specialized expertise, develop professionally in a corporate healthcare environment, and expand your impact beyond the bedside.

Responsibilities

• Respond to clinical and technical inquiries from healthcare professionals in a timely and professional manner.
• Review customer-reported concerns involving vascular access and infusion-related devices.
• Gather and evaluate clinical information related to product complaints and reported patient events.
• Apply nursing knowledge and critical thinking skills to assess reported events and support appropriate follow-up activities and regulatory reporting.
• Communicate with healthcare professionals to obtain additional clinical information when needed.
• Document complaint information clearly, accurately, and thoroughly.
• Collaborate with internal teams to investigate and resolve customer concerns.
• Provide clinical perspective regarding device use, patient outcomes, and customer experiences.
• Review complaint files and supporting documentation for completeness and accuracy.
• Prepare customer communications and evaluation letters as required.
• Review product labeling, educational materials, and customer-facing communications for clinical accuracy and clarity.
• Support activities that help ensure product quality, patient safety, and regulatory compliance.
• Serve as a clinical resource to Quality, Regulatory, Marketing, Clinical Education, and other cross-functional teams.

Minimum Qualifications

• Active Registered Nurse (RN) license required.
• Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN) or Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) required; BSN preferred.
• One (1) to three (3) years of RN clinical nursing experience required. This is a strictly entry-level position designed for early-career nurses; candidates with more than three (3) years of RN experience will not be considered.
• Experience caring for patients with vascular access devices such as PICCs, central venous catheters, implanted ports, or dialysis catheters.
• Strong clinical assessment, communication, and documentation skills.
• Ability to analyze information, identify potential concerns, and make sound clinical decisions.
• Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
• Ability to manage multiple priorities and work independently in a fast-paced environment.
• Early-career nurses are encouraged to apply.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience with infusion therapy and vascular access device management.
• Familiarity with device troubleshooting, catheter maintenance, and dressing changes.
• Experience in acute care, critical care, oncology, infusion therapy, vascular access, or related clinical settings.
• Interest in patient safety, product quality, and medical device-related activities.
• PICC insertion experience is advantageous but not required.
• Medical device industry experience is not required.
