Job Description

The Laboratory Technician Specialist will serve as a key contributor to the EPG Packaging Laboratory, supporting laboratory operations, quality system compliance, equipment lifecycle management, and test method development. This role is intended for a highly motivated and experienced professional with strong technical capabilities, excellent communication skills, and the potential to progress into a Laboratory Engineer position.

The successful candidate will act as a trusted partner to the Laboratory Supervisor, helping drive laboratory efficiency, compliance, continuous improvement, and technical excellence within a highly regulated environment.

Key Responsibilities

  • Support the Laboratory Supervisor in maintaining compliance with internal Quality System requirements and applicable standards.

  • Lead and support equipment qualification, validation, calibration, maintenance, and lifecycle management activities.

  • Develop, optimize, verify, and validate new laboratory test methods and procedures.

  • Support laboratory investigations, non-conformance assessments, CAPAs, and continuous improvement initiatives.

  • Prepare, review, and maintain laboratory documentation, protocols, reports, work instructions, and technical records.

  • Execute and oversee testing activities while ensuring data integrity, traceability, and compliance.

  • Support internal and external audits and participate in audit readiness activities.

  • Collaborate with Quality, R&D, Manufacturing, Regulatory, and external partners on laboratory-related projects.

  • Provide technical guidance and mentoring to laboratory personnel.

  • Identify opportunities to improve laboratory processes, efficiency, compliance, and testing capabilities.

  • Contribute to laboratory projects involving new equipment, software, methodologies, and technologies.

Required Qualifications

  • Technical Degree or FP Grado Superior in Engineering, Laboratory Sciences, Quality, Technology, Industrial Processes, or related disciplines.

  • Minimum of 3-5 years of experience in a laboratory, quality, engineering, validation, or regulated environment.

  • Fluent English, both written and spoken.

  • Experience working within structured Quality Management Systems.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience in packaging, medical device, pharmaceutical, or other regulated industries.

  • Knowledge of ASTM, ISO, ISTA, and related testing standards.

  • Experience with equipment qualification (IQ/OQ/PQ/CSV), calibration programs, and validation activities.

  • Experience developing, validating, or improving test methods.

  • Experience supporting audits and regulatory inspections.
